Travel to Amsterdam for Less

Travel to Amsterdam has been rapidly increasing for more than a decade now. This relatively small capital city (about 800,000 souls) attracts more than 3.5 million guests each year. In this article we are going to discuss a few basic travel tips for residents of the UK.

Attractive exchange rates make it a great time to visit any country that uses the Euro, and the Netherlands is one of them. As you may know, the pound is at a record high against the Euro, which means that you will receive more Euros for pounds than ever before. We suggest that you shop around and trade them in before you leave for Amsterdam.

Why Amsterdam? When it comes to prices, no one does it better than theses guys. Compared to Europe's other great tourist cities — Rome, Paris, London, Madrid and Amsterdam is rather cheap. There are thousands of economy hotels and eating out is quite affordable. It also doesn't hurt that everyone speaks English.

When it comes to getting around, Amsterdam is not a sprawling metropolis. In fact, there are over one million bicycles in down town Amsterdam, making them the principle mode of transportation. They can be rented at most hotels or bike shops.

Amsterdam is also home to more museums and more priceless pieces of art per kilometre than any other European city. The Van Gogh Museum welcomes well over one million visitors each year.
