Take a Trip to Dubai

Dubai in the United Arab Emirates is one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Each year, millions of Europeans visit the city, most of them on business. In 2009, around 1.1 million British citizens came to Dubai. In this article we are going to discuss a few simple tips that will ensure a trouble- free trip.

The number one concern of international tourists, especially those from Europe and America, is terrorism. Now, it is true that there is a higher threat of terrorism in Dubai than in most world capitals. That is why we suggest that you prepare for the worst before you depart.

To begin with, we strongly suggest that they obtain medical and travel insurance for any trip to the Middle East. Although, it must be noted that Dubai is not a hotbed of terrorism and the likelihood of an attack is extremely low. Still, it's better to be safe than sorry. You don't want to end up saying, Here today, Dubai tomorrow.

It might also be a good idea to stay out of public places that cater to foreigners. Again, the chance of an attack is low, but the risk is undoubtedly higher if you choose to frequent establishments that serve only expatriates. Anyway, isn't the point of travelling overseas to actually see the country and interact with the people, rather than sticking with your own?

Aside from the ever-present threat of a terrorist attack, Dubai is an extremely safe city. More than 100,000 British nationals live and work in Dubai and they rarely complain about the crime. Perhaps this is because Dubai is a growing city with low unemployment and a rising standard of living. As a result, people have little need to steal.
